Crash Course Filmmaking

In anticipation of the 12th annual ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth in Halifax (April 14-20), ViewFinders in association with Halifax Public Libraries will co-host March Break workshops throughout HRM.
 

ViewFinders at La Mi-Carême

From March 6-10th, ViewFinders will be in beautiful Cheticamp, Nova Scotia shooting a documentary about La Mi-Carême. Meaning "middle of lent" or "mid-lent," La Mi-Carême is one of the oldest Acadian traditions and occurs half-way through the solemn observance.

Lia Rinaldo steps down as Festival Director of the Atlantic Film Festival

After 22 years as part of the Atlantic Film Festival team, Lia Rinaldo has decided it’s time to move on from her role as Festival Director.
 
“It has been an honour, a privilege and a remarkable life experience to be a part of the Atlantic Film Festival all these years,” said Rinaldo. “It’s been a pleasure to work with such a smart and engaged group of professionals here at home and around the world in an industry that has been nothing short of exciting at every turn.”

Winners of the 11th annual ViewFinders: International Film Festival for Youth announced!

 

(Halifax, NS) -- The 11th annual ViewFinders: International Film Festival for Youth, a week-long festival of film, video and media for youth, have announced its award-winners for the event that took place in HRM, April 15-21.

(Halifax, NS) --  Kicking off the 11th annual ViewFinders: International Film Festival for Youth in Halifax (April 15-21), ViewFinders and The Discovery Centre will co-host the ViewFinders Expo at the Discovery Centre (1593 Barrington St.) on Sunday, April 15th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is FREE for all ages.
