The annual Music & Image Conference is pleased to announce the return of the 10 x 10 Music Video Program! This September, 10 Atlantic Canadian filmmakers and 10 Atlantic Canadian musicians/bands will be paired up to produce 10 music videos, over 5-days of on-the-ground shooting and editing. This year we are excited to also include 2-days of advanced training in the art of writing a treatment for a music video as well as the importance of the musician-filmmaker collaboration. This 2-day portion will be facilitated through online learning therefore you will be able to participate from the comfort of your own home!
This program is open to both emerging and established filmmakers and musicians. Filmmakers will be asked to submit a filmography and link to a sample of their work, while musicians will be required to submit a bio and copy of the track they would like to have made into a music video.
Selected filmmakers and musicians will access to mentors, professional film equipment and post-production support during the 5-day program. The 10x10 Program is the creation of and produced by music video director, Norwood Cheek. Kyle Davison, will be joining us in the role of 10x10 Program Facilitator. Davison, who joined us last year for the Program, is a 2011 Juno and 2011 MMVA award winning music video director having worked with bands such as Tokyo Police Club, Marianas Trench and Hedley, and Blake McGrath.
The collaborating artists will premiere their music videos in front of fans, delegates and industry professionals from around the world, at a special screening during the Music & Image Conference at the 32nd Atlantic Film Festival. We are extremely excited to announce the return of the RBC Emerging Artists Award which this year will include a $10,000 cash prize to be split amongst the winning team, as chosen by a panel of jurors and fans!
