(HALIFAX) For every song, there is a story. For a handful of talented Atlantic Canadian songwriters, these lyrics serve as the soundtracks for their lives, and the experiences of those listening. Join an acclaimed group of East Coast talent for Soundtracks and Stories: Songwriter’s Circle presented by the Songwriter’s Association of Canada as part of the Music & Image Program at the 30th Annual Atlantic Film Festival.

John-Angus and Colin MacDonald of The Trews will host this unique evening of music and storytelling. Guests Alec O’ Hanley and Liam Corcoran of Two Hours Traffic, Thom Swift and Jenn Grant will join them onstage. These musicians share the stage in an intimate setting, sharing tales about their craft and the influences behind their work. Of course, their musical gifts will also be on display throughout the evening!

"Soundtracks and Stories Songwriter's Circle really lends itself to the Music & Image Program's focus," says Andrea Dawson Thomas, Atlantic Film Festival's Director of Operations. "Like screenwriters, these artists paint a picture for their listeners with carefully crafted lyrics. They are storytellers, taking the audience along for the journey with lyrics and song."

Soundtracks and Stories takes place at The Carleton, 1685 Argyle Street, on Saturday, September 18th. The show begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are available at The Carleton by calling (902) 422-6335. Tickets cost $25 and are open to the general public. Badge holders are reminded that they must also purchase tickets if they wish to attend this event. Seating is limited and subject to availability.
