ViewFinders seeking Youth Actors with Unique Skills
March 31, 2008, Halifax, NS-ViewFinders: International Film Festival for Youth is seeking teen actors, ages 14-18 to participate in the Shoots, Scores Master Class, a workshop for young filimmakerrs. Actors should posses a unique physical skill or talent like dancing, break dancing or crumping, parkour, gymnastics, YoYo tricks, Pogo Stick, unicycle or juggling.
In person auditions will be held in Halifax on Saturday, April 5th and must be booked in advance by emailing Boyd Sharpe at boydsharpe@yahoo.com. Alternately, actors may submit a video audition via Facebook or YouTube. Further details are available online at atlanticfilm.com/view
Film Workshop Details:
Shoots, Scores Master Classes*
Shoots is a hands-on workshop where participants get a broad overview of film production including direction, lighting, sound, costume, props and editing. Participants then shoot a film for a full day with help from the pros. Led by local filmmaker Jeff Wheaton (The Lullaby of Mike Bossy, Jenn Grant music video Dreamer).
Shoots: April 11, 4:00-8:00 PM, CBC Radio Room
Shoots: April 12, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, CBC Radio Room
Scores participants will each create a score in studio to the previously produced Shoots film, with assistance from music supervisor John Rowley of the Guild of Canadian Film Composers, studio engineers and instructors. After the workshop, one score will be readied for post-production.

ViewFinders is a five-day celebration of film, video and media geared towards youth ages 3-18. The festival includes a comprehensive school program complete with a guide for educators, as well as evening and weekend screenings and events for families and young adults. ViewFinders features films from around the world and includes a selection of films made by youth.
